Health in our bodies and minds are integral to the health of our community.
It makes sense.
Our bodies want to focus on internal health alongside communal health. We are sensing, feeling, and thinking beings. When we are sick, that thinking ability is diminished because our bodies are refocusing us toward our sensing part. The sensing allows us to respond to our bodies appropriately to bring back health and balance.
Some symptoms get in the way of "life."
Some symptoms just seem to stop us in our tracks - forcing us to notice them and do something about it. And we can! We can focus on the use of herbs and food for nourishing our bodies. We can focus on movement and balance to restore function in our bodies.
But is this available to everyone?
No. Unfortunately, if you do not have health benefits, natural healthcare is costly. Clinical Herbal Medicine is not covered under most benefits and the cost to cover time, herbs, and often the making of the medicine is high. Unfortunately the wisdom and knowledge of nutrition and herbs has been lost to the average, perhaps normal, family.
However, I believe we DO have the available resources around us to foster health. Living this belief is my mission.
Here at The Knitted Womb every person has equal access to personal consults, and dietary, herbal, and lifestyle recommendations. Everyone is treated specifically and uniquely. There are financial goals that The Knitted Womb needs to reach for this to be a sustained reality. This money goes toward medicine making, time for consults, and dispensing herbs.
Donating is not an obligation. It is a privilege and an honor. By donating you are supporting a wide group of people who would otherwise not be able to afford this in-depth, continual, and personalized care.
I offer a price-list for those who can afford Herbal Medicine Care at the regular cost. If you would like to be considered for alternate paying arrangements, please contact Cassie Harris.
Caring for Women
Women's bodies are amazing. We were each created so uniquely and intricately since the moment we were knit together in our Mother's womb. We have this amazing capacity to feel, empathise, care for, nurture, and love. Not only that but we also have the amazing capacity to bleed every month and live! My husband's grandfather says to never trust something that bleeds every month and doesn't die from it, but I would argue for quite the contrary.
Our bodies were made with deep wisdom. You may think that your body doesn't have any wisdom because it is experiencing illness, disease, depression, infertility, anxiety, PMS, hot flashes, or mood swings. You may look at what your body is capable of doing physically and wonder how you will ever birth an 8-pound baby let alone recover from it! You may be wondering how you can even just make it to the end of the day let alone enjoy it.
You are not alone.
Many women feel incapable; and yet the truth is that you and your body are capable of many things. And every women is different. The fact is that sometimes our bodies need help; they can't do it all alone, just like we can't do it all alone. Our cells need recruited help and to put it simply: they need community
What kind of recruited help, you may ask?
The very kind of help they need is what we give them and how we use them. This includes what we put into or onto our bodies (what we give them), and the movements we make (how we use them). Just think of the difference someone makes on your life when they give you something you need? Like a much needed hug on an emotional or stressful day. Think of the difference it makes in our lives when we know we are doing something with purpose even when it is hard? This stuff is transformational and necessary.
